Fish, Chips + Horses!

Hello to all,

I have to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who attended my Race Night last night, it was such a success! Although a lot of organising went into the night, it was completely worth it. We raised a grand total of…

£693.75

This has taken my total to over £2,000 which is such amazing news!! I’m getting closer and closer to my total + closer and closer to getting to Honduras 🙂

We started with an empty hall:

But with the help of my amazing friends, this became the perfect venue for a night full of Races, laughs and fundraising fun! I can’t thank my helpers enough, there were girls who do A-Level maths on the totes and the rest of us spread over raffle, picture taking and keeping the night going. Special mention has to go out to my Mum who ensured a smooth running of the night and without whom the entire event would have been impossible.

I even forced myself to give a speech to 60 people (a completely new experience for me) showing that the learning doesn’t just start in August as fundraising is proving to be its own challenge.

So, finally, a massive thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, contributed a raffle prize or put any money towards the night – I couldn’t have done it without you!! Especially thanks to:
> Cambridge Publishing Management
> Teolita Nightingale (an amazing sports physio based in Cambourne)

I won’t be stopping here though, I have lots more fundraising to do so get ready for much more announcements coming soon!!

Charlotte 🙂

Exciting News

Hello to all,

Just a small update to say currently I am finishing my final preparations for my Race Night – which has had so much support that I am so grateful for – it’s definitely going to be a wonderful night! I will be sure to do a post after Saturday to let everyone know how it went.

Besides that, I have been having very exciting talks with my local coffee shop, the Sidewalk Coffee Co (https://www.sidewalkcoffee.co.uk/) and we are coming up with ideas I think everyone will really love so stay tuned for more information on that. They have been really supportive of me so definitely check them out if you are looking for a good cup of coffee 🙂 So far we are planning some summer events and as soon as I work out the final details you guys will be the first to know!

Exam season is quickly approaching which means I have to spend more and more time in my room and less time doing fundraising events. I will still be doing things throughout the exam period but revision will have to be a priority (Russian history, here I come..) although this does mean I’m getting closer to August! I should be flying out within the first week to Honduras and I really can’t wait to be out there immersing myself in such a different and new culture.

I will be back very shortly,

Charlotte 😛
